Durham Licensed Taxi Association (DLTA) was until recently known as "Derwentside Licensed Taxi Association", but following the creation of the unitary authority and the removal of the zoning structure, we started to attract members from across the County, so it became necessary to show that our members come from across County Durham.
We meet monthly, and attempt to address the issues we all face as a trade. While progress is slow in some area's, we have made good progress in others
DLTA contacted the organisers of Lumiere and invited them to enter into dialouge with us reagrding rank provision in Durham during the festival. Our work has helped in gaining two seperate ranks for the event, as well as ditigal singage, inclusion of ranks on the guidebook maps and marshals briefed on the location of ranks.
DLTA is a proud member of the National Taxi Association, and wokring with a national body helps us in accessing vauable information and advice that helps us deal with the issues we face.
